I considered this a fairly normal week.  It was rainy, as usual this time of year, so it was Thursday before we got outside for any extended length of time.  Our wooded trail was recently bush-hogged so we went for a hike on it and saw some interesting things.  A new baby turtle now resides in the terrarium, and is so cute!

I have always had a heart for children, and as I grew out of
childhood, I continued to feel more comfortable around children than
adults.  I was generally shy and
introverted, loved animals and reading about animals.  I dreamed of growing up, getting married,
having children and raising horses and puppies on a beautiful farm with white
board fencing.

The big news for the week was that we didn't see the sun until Friday.  This caused some very cool weather to envelope us and stick around for a while.  Recall that last week, we were breaking temperatures as well - over 100 degrees.  This week, we broke temperatures with record low high's. Unfortunately, I can't share a lot of this publicly, but let me say I have been challenged in many ways by FD and am glad she is finally in counseling. She should have been all along, and the state failed her.  I stepped in more than once, and finally got it arranged, and just in time.

One would think that since I live in Kentucky, love horses, and even worked on a thoroughbred farm that I would have been here before.  Not so.

Apparantly, these are normally less than 1/4 inch in diameter, whereas mine are like 1/2 inch, at least.  And many.I can eat yogurt, jello, slimfast and milkshakes (with straws) without issue.  Anything more is painful.  Average healing time is 4-14 days, which means I'll be better in about 3 more weeks.
