We rang in 2012 with a new Uno game, which DS just learned to play, and a never-ending game of Star Wars Monopoly last night.  We called it a draw about 12:30 and sent the 7 year old to bed :)  It was his latest night ever! As expected, it was a bit of a crazy week.  There was one day when DS said, "This is the craziest day of my life!" upon getting into the van yet again. My husband is back from his mission trip to Nicaragua and had a good time.  Many people came to know Christ, and he learned how to work in a kitchen, understand a bit more Spanish, and help the vets handle the animals (mostly horses and cows).

The big news for the week was that we didn't see the sun until Friday.  This caused some very cool weather to envelope us and stick around for a while.  Recall that last week, we were breaking temperatures as well - over 100 degrees.  This week, we broke temperatures with record low high's. Back-to-school night is an oft anticipated time for many children...and equally dreaded by the rest.  I always looked forward to school - or at least the shopping involved. This week is VBS at my local church.  I volunteered to help with first grade along with 2 other ladies, and it has been a full house!  The downside of high attendance in small rooms is it is really hard to get to know the kids, and in such a short period of time (3 hours a night for 4 nights)!  Only about 25 minutes is spent in our little classroom - the rest of the time is opening/closing

I just went back and read my previous post from January, and how I hoped it wasn't July when we moved because of the heat. Looks like its more likely to be August or September now! I've been working at our retail store about 25-30 hours a week, and looking for a new job opportunity the rest of the time. After NO luck doing it the standard way - through Monster.com, dropping off applications, following up with resume and cover letter to the positions I really wanted - I started looking into "work from home" positions.I discovered there are a TON of them, and not are legit.

Today is January 3rd, and I finally got a full day to work on the dreaded 80 page basketball program for the local high school. I had to let one retail location go unopened most of the day, but what can you do? I did some research, and discovered my lesions are canker sores. Apparantly, these are normally less than 1/4 inch in diameter, whereas mine are like 1/2 inch, at least. And many.I can eat yogurt, jello, slimfast and milkshakes (with straws) without issue. Anything more is painful. Average healing time is 4-14 days, which means I'll be better in about 3 more weeks. That's my guess, anyway.
